$6.1 Million Powerball Winner Stakes Their Claim
The $6.1 million Powerball jackpot winner from Saturday night has come forward to take ownership of his multimillion dollar prize.
The winner, a pensioner from Waitakere has been purchasing his tickets from the St Lukes Lotto store in Auckland on a weekly basis for years now using the same numbers every time.
The anonymous man is now $6.1 million richer after taking out the $6 million Powerball and his $142, 857 share as one of seven first division winners.
The Lotto results that made the pensioner an instant millionaire on Saturday night were 3, 8, 17, 23, 33, 38 with the Bonus Ball of 40 and the winning Powerball number 08.
The winning man has yet to reveal his identity or advise as to whether or not he wants to speak about his amazing win.
A representative from the St Lukes Lotto store where he bought the ticket; Nadee Senaradh has said:
''They were really happy, he's a regular customer, every week he's coming in here.''
The other six Saturday Lotto first division prize winners, each of which took home a $142, 857 share were sold at:
- Houhora Wharf Store in Kaitaia;
- Crandall Peters Paper Plus in Manukau;
- Paremata New Wold in Porirua;
- Mall Books and Lotto in Wellington;
- Countdown Timaru and
- Pak N’ Save in Dunedin.
